Legislation required for city to approve sale of draft beer

The city of Jackson will seek help from Representatives Greg Albritton and Brett Easterbrook in passing legislation that will allow local approval for the sale of on-premises draft beer in the city of Jackson. Once legislation passes, a resolution can then be presented to the city council for approval.

A resolution was also approved at Tuesday’s council meeting for the city of Jackson to enter an agreement with the state of Alabama for road improvements on Depot Road to benefit businesses there. The project will widen the road to accommodate increased truck traffic to PCA and other businesses there. The cost for the project is $640,000 and the resolution is required before the funds are released.
