Official word from the Jackson Waterworks & Sewer Board: the boil water order has been lifted except for Chilton customers, all tests came back perfect.

The City of Jackson, Alabama Water Works & Sewer Board has issued a Boil Water Notice for drinking and cooking water. The advisory is for those whose water is provided by Jackson Water and Sewer or provided by a company that uses Jackson Water and Sewer. They advise water should be boiled for 10 minutes and then let stand for 30 minutes prior to use. And if you are unable to boil the water, add 8 drops of bleach per gallon prior to use. When the all clear is given we will update.

The water main has been repaired, water pressure may be slow for awhile until the tanks are full. Water boil is still in effect.
